The issue is that I probably won't be buying it real soon. I need to save up. I am going for 2 gigs in the coming week though.

ATI has had trouble producing quality products in the last couple years. They do compete with Nvidia, otherwise they wouldn't feel the need to come out with 500 cards in 3 years. I'll probably end up buying from Nvidia too.
