Anybody got VPIC.EXE please email it to me

Or Lview Pro, it's a good one too and it's been around since the dawn of time. Not that its age makes it better, but you know it's totally OG if I used to run it on my 286 :D Slack on...

    How do I get A+ Cert ?

go to cramsession.brainbuzz.com and check out some of the cramsessions for the A+. Buy a book, study hard and take the test. I got mine in '98 and it was cake. That said, if I can do it, then anyone can. Learn the steps of the Electro-Photo process for laser printing, that screwed me. Good...

Cannot get machines to see each other

One potential problem I can see: You cannot plug a DSL connection directly into the uplink port on your hub, you either have to buy a DSL router to share the connection, or install two NICs in one machine and run the DSL connection to the second NIC. Then either use ICS (Which is a bit lame...

    Backup Network Configurations

Depending on what type of VPN client software he uses, you may not want to format just yet. If he uses PPTP that is more or less standard with Windows products, that might be ok, but if he uses a third-party software that connects him to his work server such as Indus River, then it may use...

Need to name my software company

Anyone heard of I Mother Earth? GREAT BAND!!!

They're kind of a mix of Bjork and Radiohead, but a little more listenable. I disagree with the guys that said their old singer was better (Just my opinion) but though I've never seen the lead singer I can tell he's a glam queen. Helluva voice, though. I kind of feel retarded for not...

    Skunk Beer?...

You could buy a new six pack then exchange the two, but like they said, it IS still buttwiper. Good luck!

    How do you melt CHEESE?

Use Campbell's cheddar soup in a can, and only mix in like a half of a can of milk, so it's thick. Thanks, now I'm hungry. As for normal cheese, there's too much oil in it to get it to melt like the processed stuff. Good luck though

What drives you crazy? "I see dead people"

"Don't Go there, sister" "Talk to the hand" And generally, anything that comes from that hell spawned shemale Ricky Lake Also, this is an old one, but from Scent of a Woman, HUUUUAAAAHHHH! or from Donnie Brasco, "FUGGETABOUDDIT" Or when Robin Williams calls people...

Keanu Reeves is a recreational drug user

I don't want to make waves here, but who cares? I'm not dogging the entire post, but if someone chooses to smoke pot occasionally is it that big a deal? I agree that if Steven Hawking had been the one making the statement it would have given more cred to the occasional pot smoker community...

    Quick Q: Win2000 and Adaptec 4.0 ok ?

There are problems both with older (3.x) versions of Easy CD and with older versions (Sub v5) of Nero, DO NOT install either of those progs, they will hose your system. But I have used both Nero (most recent release) and Easy CD 4.0 with 2000 for about 8 months now without problems.

Poll: when is time to clean PC

I agree with the canned air guy. Or an air compressor if you have access to it, but go easy on the airflow. I typically clean mine every 6 months or so, but if I lived in a dust bowl-type city then I'd probably say every 3 months or less. Also, depending on whether you leave your computer on...

    Should I switch to cable?

If you can get @home, do it. I've had friends that have had DSL for a long time taunt me when I couldn't get DSL in my area, but once Comcast got out here, I was the one laughing. I just went to 2wire.com and got a bandwidth test, I'm at 2145.5Mbps, and that's with several Napster dl's going...

How short can a cat5 cable be?

There was a minimum length between devices on a network and 24 inches sounds right, but I'm pretty sure that was for thinnet coaxial. I'll check my NetEss books.
