    Thoughts on new build

want to stick with AMD/ATI cards for this round, 7870 = 330$ 2000kr 7950= 415$ 2600kr (danish krones) I game at 1920x1080 (yes one of those :P ) I don't plan to do much OC, maybe a bit for the fun. totally I hope to keep it within 1100$ I picked 1.3V ram because I read that they should...

    Thoughts on new build

Greetings good people of Anandtech, picked up skyrim from steams summer sale, and must sadly accept that my old rig needs an upgrade if I want all the juicy stuff, (E8600 and 8800 GTS...) I plan to get: CPU: i5 3570K CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (with 2 Scythe Gentle Typhoon...

    SSD for Aspire 7738G

I think I get the sammy, everyone seems really happy about it, and haven't been able to find any problems with it, I just wonder if 128gb will be enough, it would be enough for my main computer because of the option of normal HDDs for crap, but on my laptop I don't have that choice, my gf plays...

    SSD for Aspire 7738G

Hello :) as the title says, I have a Aspire 7738G laptop that I'm thinking about putting a SSD in, atm it just have the standart 500gb HDD, but atm I feel it's impossible to pick the right SSD, I would like a SSD between 120 and 240ish GB, but every SSD atm seems to have trouble. OCZ is failing...

    Good backup?

It's about time I get a back up of the pic's I have on my computer and looking for a decent way of backing it up, one thought was make a copy on a old harddisk i no longer use because of it's size and have it storaged somewhere, but I'm not sure that is the right way, was thinking of some online...

getting the last life out of my 8800 gts (and my cpu..)

not that you guys normally use, but I'm running at 18-30 fps. it will have to do till the 6xxx's come out, or the 5850 drops heavily in price. really trying to hold out upgrading so I can build myself a new rig next year with a bulldozer as the cpu. I did however get the 2-3 fps more, so not...

getting the last life out of my 8800 gts (and my cpu..)

got done with my first oc, *bleeds a little * joke aside. went from 3 ghx to 3.4 and from 650 to 700. the results where: (the FF XIV benchmark since FF XIV server is down atm...3 runs with each, taken the avg) ..................low-------- high stock/stock 2966........1845 3.4/stock...

getting the last life out of my 8800 gts (and my cpu..)

problem is I'm from Denmark, and the second handed hardware market is pretty much crap. :/ newegg doesn't ship to DK sadly. but if I can just push 5 fps more out then it will be smooth enough for my eyes not to bleed. it's just about 17-20 fps when I'm not around too many people. when alone it...

getting the last life out of my 8800 gts (and my cpu..)

yea, kinda saving up for a bulldozer 8 core and a nice 6xxx to pair with it :) that's why I rather push this build a bit the next year and wait with shopping till then

getting the last life out of my 8800 gts (and my cpu..)

I actually find rivatuner easy to get around in, been using it for a while to change fan speed on my gfx on different lvls and such, so I won't get lost in there (watch me jix the hell out of myself and get lost when I'm done running this stress test..) my aim is CPU FSB to 380 (maybe 400...
