Just go ahead and pick up a CRT?

Here's a lot of only four... easier to get a group buy going with fewer people. There are lots of great CRT monitors on ebay. I just did a search for "Sony 21" CRT" because I'm not as familiar with non-sony model numbers. There are some 24" widescreen sony CRTs there, too... that'd be pretty...

Just go ahead and pick up a CRT?

If you can get 8 gamer friends together who want the best display available, this would be a hell of a deal: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-of-8-Sony-Trini...19QQcategoryZ99235QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Just go ahead and pick up a CRT?

About 5 years ago, I picked up a Sony G500 21" crt. It is fantastic, and knock on wood, still going strong. It weighs a metric ton or three, heats my office nicely in the winter, and takes up a lot of space on my desk. But it kicks virtually EVERY LCD monitor's ass in image quality, even on...

    7600GT AGP

Netopia: I would invest in a good power supply regardless. You can always keep your older p.s., and then when you build your new pci-e machine next year or so (assuming) you can take the good p/s and put it in the new machine, and put your old p/s back in the old machine (if you wanted the...

    7600GT AGP

    That's a PCI-e version.

    Not another AGP GPU thread...

Happy and Captante, thanks! HM: interesting that you put the 7600gs above the 6800gs... I thought most people were placing the 6800gs almost as high as the 6800gt. IMO, the 6800gt is out of contention because it is $200 -- way too much for a 6-series no matter what. For $200, I'd just go...

    Not another AGP GPU thread...

Happy Medium: great stuff thanks. If the main difference between the 7600gt and the 7800gs is apparent ONLY when getting into higher resolutions, then I probably should try to swing a 7600gt, because I'm not a resolution guy. 1280x960 is plenty for me. Kmmatney: I appreciate the info. I...

    Not another AGP GPU thread...

Well, that brings me back to my original question... Can we rank in order, the available AGP gpu's? Including both nVidia and ATI? I think this would be pretty usefull for lots of people... then one can just decide their price and choose the card that best fits that price... With all...

    Not another AGP GPU thread...

Here's another question... if as Stumps says, my AthlonXP 3200+ (no o/c) is going to be the bottle neck for anything like a 6800gs or better, then maybe I *should* just save the cash and get the 7600gs/agp? I mean, maybe a better way to look at this is, given my cpu, am I going to see any...

    Not another AGP GPU thread...

Power-wise, I have an Enermax 350W ps, forget the exact model... whispersomethingorother... it's good, but only 350W If you look at the "my rig" link in my sig, you'll see I have a dvd-rom drive, a cd-r drive, and two hdd's running, plus a floppy (yeah, I should just take that out... don't...

    Not another AGP GPU thread...

So I'm (still) in the market for a good AGP video card to make my current PC last as long as possible (I don't want to give up my Nvidia soundstorm mobo, plus budget doesn't allow a new mobo, cpu, AND gpu, especially when the current mobo/cpu work great). The 7800gs seems to be the best...

    g.skill memory

Yeah, I wish there was such a round up... I'm also interested in this ram... Mushkin budget stick Anyone used it? What kind of timings can it do? It's actually slightly cheaper per gig than the G.Skill stuff I linked above... I wonder how it compares?

    g.skill memory

I think this article from anandtech pretty much clears it up. The $100 kit is most likely NOT TCCD.

    g.skill memory

I'm not so sure... Yes, there are G.Skill dimms that are obviously TCCD dimms... you can see them in the picture. But for the ones I linked to above, that go for just under $100 on newegg, the chips do not say Samsung anywhere on them... only a Gskill label.

    g.skill memory

In another thread 'ribbon13' suggested I check out G.Skill's 1GB kit (512 x 2) of PC3200 ram. Someone else in the thread agreed, stating something to the effect of "anything with Samsung TCCD's is good stuff" (paraphrasing). Upon looking at those G.skill sticks, and comparing to other...
