Rumored (now Denied). nVidia to Recall 600 series cards? (xbitlabs via pnosker.com)

Yeah I probably will! There is another factor and that is I have the FT02 case which recommends closed blowers, but I don't think the Asus cooler will be an issue. It's just on the face of it a £300 670 sounds awesome, but in reality it's near £400, since noise bothers me..

Rumored (now Denied). nVidia to Recall 600 series cards? (xbitlabs via pnosker.com)

I've had 3870 and 4870 cards, my current choices are 7850 @ £200 (UK prices) or 670 @ £300 for reference cooler or £370 for Asus. I might go 670 reference route first, see how noisy is it, then get an after market cooler.. :) My point is there isn't even an alternative gfx card from AMD at the...

Why do you guys bother with PC gaming?

I wonder how many PC gamers start troll posts on console forums.. :) Why do I bother? Keyboard and Mouse, 1920x1200 graphics, customisation, upgradability, Steam sales ;) Some of my friends bought consoles just to play games like GTA4, now they gather dust (the console, not my friends). I was...

    Negative progress in monitor technology?

I didn't see the 16:9 over 16:10 thing coming, but most people (the other 99.99% of the world that don't read Anandtech) wouldn't even notice, they see both as widescreen and that's all they care about. 16:9 is annoying, because it's backwards, it's less space and further away from the...

    Welcome to the dark ages

I agree there is or is going to be a 'lull', I think there are a few problems: clock speeds aren't increasing any more the industries answer to this was multiple cores diminishing returns of multiple cores, because concurrency is hard, I like the analogy of pistons in a car engine, because...

What's the max amount of input lag that you don't find unacceptable?

http://www.anandtech.com/show/2803 I don't notice any when v-sync is off on my BenQ G2400WD, but back in the day I could tell 75fps (jerky) from 85fps (smooth) in Quake 2 (I know fps =! input lag.. or does it?! :)) - so it depends. Someone could make an app that adds a set amount of input lag -...
