fixed. I reinstalled windows, mounted and unmounted. followed a bunch of tutorials and it is fixed. I have no idea what it was that finally fixed but at this point I am just glad it's fixed. Thanks to you all for the help. David

It worked until I rebooted and then the same thing to insert a disk. I reinstalled windows from an iso and it worked until I rebooted and then back to insert media. Very frustrating.

FIXED. Ran check disk which said it didn't find anything rebooted and it works. whew. Thank for your help David

It is a Samsung t5 ssd 1tb. Windows 10. When I go under my computer It shows the drive but when I right click on it and click properties it shows 0. Under disk management it says removeable H: no media. I hope this helps you to help me. Lol thank you for taking the time.

Im an old guy who needs some help. I bought an external Samsung ssd. I plug it in and it shows under my computer but when I click on it says please insert a disk? I changed the drive letter but that didn't help. I have tried to run the troubleshooter but starts and then gives me an error. Thanks...

Ok so I guess I'm going to go ahead and spend a little more. I'm thinking my P.s.u. at 1000w should be ok. I guess I'll grab a motherboard and new ram also. It will have to last me while. The asus pro mb looks pretty good. 16 Meg's of ram (any certain brand?) Would a 6 core cpu be better? And...

My head is spinning from reading and trying to take all of this in ... LOL

I think I will go ahead and replace the cpu,video card,and add ram. I'd like to stay around &1000 or so. Any recomendations on these parts? And thanks
