    (solved)Problematic Titan

I read many comments about the artifacts in the Unigine benchmarks in Guru3D forums. So far the Nvidia driver updates haven't fixed this issue, as far as I know. If you are interested in overclocking Titan, you should refer to Overclock.net site (...

[wccftech] rumor: amd hawaii benchmarked in 3dmark11 firestrike AMD attacks titan

These guys did some measurement of vRAM usage in many games (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18497413). The result seems to suggest that 2GB is more or less fine for 1080p but that 3GB is required for above 1080p.

Is Desktop Haswell a dud? How many are not "upgrading"?

I agree with this comment. Die size of 4770K is the same as that of 3770K (22nm). The physics operating in this die size should be the same for both processors. Since 4770K has a bit more features than 3770K (such as an improved iGPU performance), it is expected that the the temperature is a bit...

    Titan owners and GTX 780

I feel that the perception of $1000 is different between those in Poland and, let's say, those in USA. When the review of Titan appeared, many thought that Titan shines in 2xSLI. I feel that many in USA bought two Titans rather than one. $2000 is a big money even in USA but not as big as...

    Titan owners and GTX 780

Titan and GTX780 is like GTX680 4GB and GTX670 2GB. The performance difference is about 10% in both cases. The initial price of GTX 680 4GB was $550-600 while that of GTX670 2GB was $400-450. Then the differential ratio is about 575/425 = 1.35. If this works for Titan/780, the price of Titan...

Nvidia`s Titan outsold GTX 690 in just three months after release

The steam survey is giving us some perspectives, I guess. Since it is based on the gamer community it wouldn't include the sales for scientific community. According to the survey Titan reached to 0.06% share this April in three months. As a comparison HD7970 reached to 0.68% last December in one...

How the PlayStation 4 is better than a PC

When PS3 appeared, its hardware was significantly better than its contemporary PCs. It was definitely worth to get a console to run games that time. PS3 made many PCs obsolete then. But this time the hardware of PS4 is weaker than mid to high end gaming PCs'. Unlike PS3 era, if you would like to...

Should i crossfire my card ?

lol!! Seriously you had better update your case first. To run games at 1080p/120Hz or 1600p, you really need good cards. I updated my cards when I changed my monitor from 1080p to 1440p. I know that you don't want Nvidia cards. But as far as I know, Titan and gtx 680 is shorter than HD7970???

Should i crossfire my card ?

If this is the case, you had better off waiting until HD7990 is released. I feel that ATI will fix crossfire issues for this particular card (Kepler has a chip for SLI. I feel that ATI might add a similar chip for crossfire for this particular card since ATI probably wants to claim the fastest...

Should i crossfire my card ?

+1 You play at 1080p. One gtx670 or HD7950 is pretty enough for running most of games at 1080p. When there is a way to run games with one card, it is better off by not going to multi-gpu setup. You should consider multi-gpu setup only when one high-end gpu is not enough (such as 1080p/120Hz...

    New replacement needed!

If you play at higher resolution display, it requires more gpu power. 1080p means 1920x1080 resolution. If you play at 1680x1050, you need 15% less gpu power compared with 1080p. I you play at 2560x1440, you need 77% more gpu power compared with 1080p. At the moment if you want to play games at...

    New replacement needed!

I think that you should overclock your cpu a bit (3.6-3.8GHz). if you can afford, gtx670 is a better option than gtx 660ti/gtx660 if you game at 1080p.

AMD: Moore's Law's end is near

Since there are many knowledgeable forumers in this section, I would like to ask a question somewhat related to the subject in this thread. Since my field is not electrical engineering, this question might be irrelevant. Please forgive me in this case. I read somewhere in this forum that the...

    Image quality Who is better

I have a NEC 27inch display (2560x1440) with color calibrator. I have been using this display with both Nvidia and ATI gpu. Even before calibration I don't see much difference between two cards. After calibration, there is no difference at all.
