MX440 PCI and 9000 PCI benchies

I was considering the Powercolor 9000, however, I'm seriously considering the 440 MX 128 MB video card to be the card to satisfy me for the next year. Is Cable Mart a reliable source for hardware? I notice that there is no return from them.

    DirectX 8.2!

This might be somewhat related to yours... but when I installed UT2K3, I already had the latest direct x version... and yet, the program needed to insisted that it needed to update the directx on the computer.

Hercules Radeon 9000 PCI available for $139

Hercules Radeon 9000 PCI Although more expensive than a PowerColor Radeon 9000 PCI... by $40, is it worth getting a card from a company that is a partner with ATI (Hercules) as opposed to a company that simply is powered by ATI (Powercolor)?

Is the XBox's Unreal Championship based on the new Unreal 2003 Engine?

UT2K3 is by far the greatest game out right now. Translocators, wall jumps, double jumps, lightning gun, the ion painter.... so many good things in such a little package. I tell, I've never had so much fun as sending a beam from space down onto the puny opponents below! Call me cynical, just...

Is the XBox's Unreal Championship based on the new Unreal 2003 Engine?

From what I understand is that UT2003 is built from scratch meaning that it's not based on previous UT engine; however, I wouldn't be suprised if some of the tech from the original was included. As for the UTXBox version coming out, that's based on the same engine as the UT2003 version...

Buying first DC .... suggestions please

One other thing, your camera only has digital zoom. Get a camera with optical zoom. Most come with 3x optical. The advantage of the Minolta S404 is that it has 4x optical zoom. Optical zoom allows you to capture greater quality photos than digital zoom. Kodak sucks big donkey. They rely on...

Buying first DC .... suggestions please

Get a Minolta S404 for $450. Now that's a good deal! 4 megapixels, voice memo recording, 1 minute of .avi recording, and a starting 16mb compactflash card. Add monster batteries and a charger for $30 more, a 128mb compact flash card for $50, and a compactflash card reader for $30 and then...

    Powercolor 9000 PCI available 10/25/02

I've thought about the Geforce 4 Mx 440 PCi 128MB card, and here's a question... with a core such as the one implemented in the Geforce 4 Mx 440 PCI, can such a card benefit from 128MB?

    Powercolor 9000 PCI available 10/25/02

Sweet Bunny Loafs!!! A 128 MB Geforce 4 MX440 in PCI! But, that damn price makes it entirely not worth purchasing it. $265.00 EDIT: That's in New Zealand dollars. So, that leaves me with a question: where can we find a Geforce 4 Mx 440 PCI in 128 MB fashion in the U.S.?

    Powercolor 9000 PCI available 10/25/02

I was re-reading the e-mail and I noticed a discrepancy. In the subject header, the date says the 28th, but in the letter it says the 25th. Strange.

    Powercolor 9000 PCI available 10/25/02

I think dual monitors would be great... however, you'll have to buy a DVI to CRT adapter to run a second CRT instead of a DVI. Here's my thoughts. With a Geforce 4 Mx 420 PCI, I am able to run UT2K3 at 800x600 with all the eye candy and settings at High for World Detail and Player but Normal...

    Powercolor 9000 PCI available 10/25/02

Hell yeah! I got the same e-mail as well. So... the question begs, regardless of price, will this be a better video card than a Geforce 4 Mx 440 PCI?

    Radeon 9000 pci arrived today

So, Hercules and Powercolor both have PCI Radeon's out in other countries, this is becoming very interesting. I know that Powercolor is shipping this week their PCI card to the U.S. for selling around Nov. 1. As for Hercules, this will be interesting to see how they will play for the demand of...
