So I upgraded my Acer aspire 5100-5022, and now my keyboard and mouse wont work. When i boot my computer i get the following message " windows failed to start" then it asks me if i want to start in safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc.
It then prompts me to wait 30 secs then boots...
I have decided that I "need" PCIe. I was thinking about just buying the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe and being done with it, but are there any other alternatives? See, a 6600GT will cost me 240 bucks in AGP, but 185 bucks in PCIe, so I figure I could just buy a nicer and better board for the same amount...
Ok I have ONE more question and then I am done, I promise:)
I have been hearing nonstop from people that I should go with a PCIE board. Should I even bother? How much more will a decent quality PCIE board cost me? Is it worth it?
Thanks again guys.
So I cant run 3 sticks of ram on a chaintech? And if I stick 4 of them in there it will clock the ram at 333?
I dont think I am going to need more than 1G of PC400 ram anyways though....will I?
Decisions, decisions.
Also, to show you all what PC I am going from:
Epox 8kata+ pro
Athlon 1700
512MB PC133 Kingston RAM
GeForce2 MX400 64MB
80G HD
I built that PC almost 4 years ago. Man I am so in need of an upgrade, lol.
I am putting my order in tomarrow! Yes!
I am ordering the exact setup Anubis suggesting, with exception to the case.
One more question:
Is it worth the extra 15 bucks to go to an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ instead of the 2800+?
Wow, I think I am going to order exactly that. You guys are awesome. I just got saved from screwing myself.
I just read several reviews on the Chaintech board and every single site said that it was a great board. Man now I am getting excited.
Well I read up for a bit, and I came up with this for my PC on mwave. I am obsessed with MMORPGs, and I think the 9600XT will be able to handle it. I can go up to about 800 dollars total for a PC. Does this look good? Is this the best setup for the money...
