The Futuremark FAQ says to uninstall, reboot, and then reinstall 3DMark2001 SE. However, I still get an error message saying that 3DMark2001 SE requires DirectX 8.1 on my Windows 2000 Pro (SP4) system. Are there any other workarounds besides the Futuremark FAQ suggestion which didn't work? ka

Well this really sucks. Some retail stores appear to have ATI 9800NP boxes, but as mentioned newegg doesn't have them anymore. The retail price at Best Buy isn't discounted, so I'll have to see if any of the Circuit City stores locally have the $50 off someone mentioned. ka

Are there any reviews that measure the db of the fan on one of the 9800 NP or Pro cards? It looks like ATI and the Sapphire ATI cards also use different fans. I'm sorely tempted to drop back to a 9600 Pro Ultimate which is probably still usable or spend the extra bucks for a 9800 Pro Ultimate...
