OK so now i've done the final round of testing. It's very clear now that the Cooler Master CPU is the one to blame.
I tested the new VC in a HP XW6000 workstation (including a basis 650W PSU) and it worked like a charm, no noise whatsoever.
I also attached a brandless 500W PSU to my own PC and...
I'll do just that if and when I get an answer from Cooler master support. (Apparently they art not in a hurry :D )
Meanwhile i'm gonna lend a couple of PSUs from my friends and test them out. See what results i get with those.
So this week i decided to upgrade my pc
from:
old PSU: Antec Smartpower SP-450P unit that came with Antec Sonata II case. 450 Watt
old VC: MSI Geforce 8800 GTS 320MB (needs one 6p PCI power)
to:
new PSU: Cooler Master Real Power M700. 700 Watt
new VC: Gigabyte Geforce gtx260 core216...
