thanks for all the advice. a point or two..... the CPU temp rose 5C at start up with the case opened. I have closed the case and temps are stable exactly as they were with it open. I was very careful with cables and routing during build with 4 thermistor controlled fans and PSU...

I can see the case temps rising because of the drive heat dissapation and I can see the PSU temps rise because of voltage draw...I can even agree that air flow may be an added issue (not in my case). The thing that bugs me is that the CPU temp has risen 5-6C with no additional load.

I simply added a 80G PATA IDE drive to the system and my idle and load temps rose exactly 5C across the board. The CPU usage did not increase only the temps....does that make sense to anyone? Original temps 39C.....44C Now 44C....49C Still not bad but its strange. any comments are...
