    Problems accessing the internet

Is the problem the same in Firefox as it is in Internet Explorer?

    Can I use 8-pin PCI-E in 6-pin connector?

I currently have a 2900XT, which uses the 6 and 8 pin connectors. Since I have everything neatly routed behind my mobo, it is quite a chore to replace cables. Can I just use the current 8 pin in the 6 pin slot on my 4870? Thanks.

    Quick and probably easy question...

How about if I leave the power connectors in, and connect 2 more 6 pin connectors to the new card? If I hook my monitor up to the 4870, will I be able to use that as my primary display?

    Quick and probably easy question...

Hey all...This may be common knowledge, but I'm just not sure of the answer to this one. I have a new graphics card on the way (HD4870), and my system is watercooled. I want to try out the card when I get it to make sure it functions correctly, but I don't want to disturb my current setup...

    Question about power supply wires...

NXIL...personally, I don't think the situation you describe applies to what I'm thinking about doing, but I guess that's a matter of opinion. If the wires are terminated properly, they are no more dangerous than leaving the power cables hooked up, and having the wires tucked away. On a side...

Noob putting together a water cooling system

You can get the metal barb right from Thermochill. Even with shipping from the UK, total cost for me was about $12, and they took a week to get to me. Check here: http://www.thermochill.com/aca...chill_accessories.html It's about halfway down the page: G3/8" BSP O-Ring Sealing 1/2" Fitting

    Question about power supply wires...

OK...thanks for your quick responses. I'm running out of room in my case, but I'll try leaving the wires until I absolutely have nowhere to go with them. Also...if I do decide to cut them, does it matter which black goes back to which black, or which yellow goes to which yellow? Thanks again!

    Question about power supply wires...

What I had in mind was cutting the wires, then wrapping each individual wire in electrical tape. I would then bundle the wires together, and wrap that in electrical tape. Would this still carry the likelihood of shorting out? If each wire is separated and taped, the chances of a short are...

    Question about power supply wires...

Hey all...quick PSU question for you folks: I have a Thermaltake Toughpower 1000W PSU, and it has 2 4 pin CPU power connectors, and an 8 pin power connector (in addition to the 24 pin ATX connection). At present time, I only need the ATX 24 pin and 1 of the CPU 4 pin connector. For the sake...

    DVD drive stuck at 1.5 MB/Sec Vista x64 + x86

I think it must be a driver issue for my mobo. I put in a SATA Raid card I had, and the drive is working perfectly, with UDMA available. For some reason, the HDD's are working in UDMA, but my optical drive would not. I tried switching SATA ports on the mobo, and I'm using the same cable, and...

    DVD drive stuck at 1.5 MB/Sec Vista x64 + x86

I have an SATA card that I'll try plugging in...that'll at least tell me if it's something with the mobo (driver issues), or the drive. Unfortunately, I don't have another PC at the moment to try the drive in, and it's not worth piecing one together from parts! Also, I use Daemon tools...no...

    DVD drive stuck at 1.5 MB/Sec Vista x64 + x86

Cables are plugged in correctly, switching SATA ports changed nothing. My drivers are up to date, and I have the latest firmware...I'm at a loss here!

    DVD drive stuck at 1.5 MB/Sec Vista x64 + x86

ATA Channels 0 and 1 are my 4 SATA ports...I only have 4 SATA devices...no IDE at all. I have checked the Enable DMA checkbox, OK'd it, and even tried a reboot, but the box is not checked the next time I go in. Regardless, the HDD IS in UDMA 6, so DMA must be enabled. Even forgetting...

    DVD drive stuck at 1.5 MB/Sec Vista x64 + x86

Yes...there was no change. Also, even if I was in PIO Mode 4, my transfer rates should still be much higher. I have tried removing the drive and the ATA channels, and there has been no change once the devices were reinstalled. Does anyone know...are there supposed to be 2 entries for each...
