I have AT&T broadband, I can logon to their network but can't view any websites. previously I had cable and didn't have to do w/ the logon crap, when i plug in my nic into the modem, connecion works, no need to logon or whatever and i'd get internet connection and can view sites or whatever...

can you tell me where i'd go to do fdisk or fix mbr cuz fdisk is not recognizing it (w/ plain boot cd) and i can't boot off of xp installtion cd, i tried this cd on a working system w/o problems

the only cd that can be recognized is a plain boot cd, windows setup cd cna't be recognzied, when booting up w/ boot up cd, it leads me to dos, except that hd can not be found, fdisk shows a hd of the size of 60g, except mine is 160g, the hd posts during boot.

Update by some miracle, i was able to back up my stuff onto DVDs. :) I first formated the small hd of 40G (still have probs w/ that, showing 2 partitions one 8mb w/ rest 39.x gigs) no clue why, even used partition magic on it and still like but, don't care. i kept on trying to install new copy...

still no go, i don't see anything after "go into Computer Management > Disk Management and see if the drive is listed in Disk Management. " any suggestions :( it does post though
