Noob Question -- Would Nvidia fit on Asus Motherboard

If you are spending nearly $250 on a processor and $200 on a motherboard why not build an i7 system? Seems like common sense to me.

    Worthwhile Upgrade?

GTA4 for PC is fine, people just like to bitch. I played it on an e5200 + 9600 GSO(both heavily OCed) and it ran acceptably at 1280 with few noticeable problems. I'm sure it will run beautifully on a c2q + 260.

    E5200 voltages?

This is flagrantly untrue. An e5200 is $73 on newegg while the e8400 is $165. That's a price increase of a full 125% and the extra cache on the e8400 will get you at most a 20% increase in performance depending on the application. And if you are going to venture into that price range you might...

    E5200 voltages?

I've got an e5200 running at 3.3 ghz on stock cooling. Just upped the voltage to 1.26, the FSB to 266 and a 2/3 fsb/ram divider runs the ram at its normal speed (ddr2-800) Doesn't go over 50 degrees C even when gaming. I'm sure it could go higher but I figured if I'm going to push it I should...

    4830 or 4850? Need help!

You might want to consider upgrading the processor to a 7750

    $250 Gaming System

My old case is dented and scuffed, would be a shame to put new parts into it. I think a 9600gt needs at least a bit more than 300w anyway.

    Best GPU for ~$125?

Unless you upgrade that CPU the wisest choice would be to look for one of the 9600 GSO deals that have been around lately. Here's a nicely overclocked one for $55 after rebate; http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130361 Might still need a new PSU for it. If so the HD4670 is an...

AMD Radeon HD 4350 and 4550: Released Review thread

Not well. Your 7600GT is about on par with the DDR2 9500GT which you can see comparisons to in the anandtech review linked above.

Help me pick a cheap crappy MB

Actually it's $17 dollars more because the Asus(which does have 4 dimm slots) is $10 off through the combo like I said. I plan on throwing a real video card in this thing so the IGPs features aren't really an issue. That board is ATX anyway and I need a microATX for this case. Would've said...

Help me pick a cheap crappy MB

Hmm, the chipset on that board seems pretty old. I've been looking at the cheap Foxconn boards with AMD 700 series chipsets but I've never really heard of Foxconn.

Help me pick a cheap crappy MB

Alright, the system in question currently has a 754 socket board and I'm doing a rebuild up to AM2 with a very limited budget. I'm recycling the case and the drives so essentially I need a CPU, MB and RAM. After the RAM I have about $100 to spend on CPU/MB After looking around newegg the best...

    Video card recommendations

An HD4850 would be a nice upgrade. Should handle that resolution well and it's a good deal at it's price.

    HD4670 vs 9600GT

Both of the cards I'm talking about are single slot. Which is what I need.

    HD4670 vs 9600GT

Alright, I've been researching this stuff for a while but need to make a decision. I've been waiting for the price of the HD4670 to come down but my patience is at an end. I'd probably go for the 9600GSO deal that's $50 after rebate even though I hate dealing with rebates but it's a dual slot...
