I suspect that that is a reason, as the connection speed drops when testing the speed with Samsung Magician or AS SSD Benchmark, or playing a game, like Sniper Elite 4.
Thank you, Larry.
(Hi, I've been a member for many years, but couldn't sign in to my old account - perhaps because I have been absent for a few years (JustaGeek))
I have finally been able to change my password and log in to my account. I still have to figure out how to change my signature from years ago.
I have...
What does it do...?
Is it just a viewer...?
Because the drive is visible in the Computer/Disk Management, but shows as 931.48 GB unallocated, and cannon be initialized (access denied).
I could just format that drive inside the computer, but I don't know if it will allow me to do it.
Again, the drive is seen by the OS in Device Manager and can be connected/disconnected, but OS doesn't see it, and any attempt of erasure or initialization is denied.
I did see the data using one of the Linux readers called explore2fs on an XP desktop:

But the drive was connected directly to the motherboard (internally).
Now it is in the enclosure, and maybe I have to disassemble it again and...
Thank you, but is there any less troublesome way to do it? From within Windows, or perhaps on DOS level...?
I would have to get Linux and I don't really know much about it...
Thanks!
Hello everyone,
My old Western Digital My Book World 1TB NAS hard drive (blue circles) failed. Thankfully I was able to retrieve the data using the Linux reader software in Windows (connecting the drive to the motherboard of a computer with Windows XP).
Consequently, I have purchased an...
I replaced the 60 GB HD in this laptop almost immediately with the 80 GB Seagate.
I don't know if you can do it with any higher capacities, but any IDE HD should be fine here, IMO.
Disabled since the beginning.
Norton Internet Security 2008 - 2009, and now 2010 is supposed to take care of security on my computers.
Can you explain to me what kind of malicious software can slip thru the cracks of NIS 2010...?
I lowered the memory frequency to 667MHz over a year ago, to run 1:1 with the FSB. Everything is running smoother than 800 MHz with the "weird" FSB:RAM ratio, with my 333 (1333) MHz FSB.
Have not had a hardware problem since... (knock on wood!)
Ever Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Far Cry 2...
