i am in the same boat... if the 7900GT was in stock on monday, i would've bought one for sure. but instead, i had to wait, and luckily, newegg had a sapphire x1800xt 512MB for $309 yesterday (back up to $319 now). i think it's a much better value than this crazed 7900GT

yea... i am not an audiophile at all, but i do have a sense of quality. i bought a pair of sennheiser HD-212 headphones to replace my iPod headphones, and wow was that a change. likewise, my current speakers are the crap coming out of my laptop, and watching movies/playing games is half the fun...

if this was posted on sunday, i would've immediately said 7900GT. i would've bought on in a heartbeat if any were available. with a stroke of luck though, i waited and found a sapphire x1800xt 512MB on newegg for $309 -- that's $15 cheaper than the 7900GT, and it lets me play any game full-blast...
