You don't need them. They are only an intermediate connection that allows you to keep all those wires plugged into a small block even if you have to unplugg the entire block from the motherboard. It is convenient if you unplug everything from your board regularly, but if not, you won't even...

The replay system does kinda suck.
To get out of the replay, you have to hit "X" to exit the telemitry mode first, then you can hit "B" to exit the replay. That took me a little while to figure out as well.
Are you sure the fast forward and rewind don't work like they should when you...
When I was using this motherboard, I had the same problem with long boot times. I even had the 0075 message in the bottom right. I determined that it was my Canon printer. The canon printer had a card reader built it and that was causing the bios to stall while trying to determine the device...
I may be completely wrong here, but I think the OP is talking about where you click to select the file. In XP if you click the white space to the right of the file name, you don't select any thing. In Vista, if you click the white space to the right of the filename, you select the file (and...
I would guess it is because they have speed control built in via the three-speed switch. since you control the speed that way, what additional benefit would there be to monitoring the speed?
I have the same case, and I have never even thought about wanting to monitor the speed, I only care...
I have been able to boot to USB drive using Acronis True Image boot media maker, as well as boot to CD for the image process. I would recommend the latest version of Acronis, it did everything I needed it to do, and it was only the trial version.
I had the same problem, the way I fix the issue is to alt-tab out of the game then alt-tab back into the game. After doing that, it locks the cursor into the game and you can scroll normally.
YMMV.
I did this very thing over the past weekend. I just replaced my 36 GB raptor OS drive with a 150 GB Raptor drive. I downloaded Acronis True Image Trial, it cloned the drive (strarted within Vista, and finished by booting to a dos type environment). I then disconnected the 36 gb drive (left it...
I am not 100% sure, but I am guessing you have to have the drive plugged in before power on / boot. Then enter the bios. Once there, there will be a setting for USB connected devices (I forget where, because I am at work). From there you can change some setting that might help it boot, at the...
You can easily switch to ACHI after windows is loaded.
You need to unlplug the boot drive from the current intel controller, and plug it into the Jmicron controller.
Change the intel controller from IDE to AHCI in the bios. Boot into windows (since the Jmicron controller is bootable)...
Some one else might explain it better, or correct me if I am wrong:
ACHI allows the drive to transfer at SATA speeds, instead of limiting the drive to ATA-133 speeds. It also adds support for Native Command Queueing.
I am not sure about what drivers to install. I used Vista, so all the...
- Yes this will work perfectly
If I have time to put a guide together I will try. However, I really don't think it is as confusing as you think. Don't over complicate it. Both controllers will work in IDE mode perfectly. However, if you want AHCI performance, just have the drivers (from...
I believe that AHCI is slighly better than IDE settings for the Intel controller. I would set it to AHCI before installing windows. Just make sure you have the Intel drivers on a floppy so you can install them during the installation of Windows.
I don't know if the Jmicron controller will...
It looks good, except you will want to leave the Jmicron set to IDE, since your optical drive is IDE (not SATA).
When you set your bios to boot to optical drive (and set Jmicron to IDE) you would also want to set Intel to AHCI.
Then boot to the windows CD, hit F6 to install the INTEL...
