My dad just called me crazy and a psycho

Getting 10-12 hours of sleep is oftentimes a good thing, especially for young adults. On most summer days like this, I wake up around 3 pm. Granted, it's kind of a pain that my "morning" sometimes approaches evening. I'm a regular customer at the local diner that serves breakfast 24/7.

Anyone else have a desire to get GTA: SA after all this publicity?

I think the publicity obtained from this is a good thing. The GTA series is almost a household name. Most of my friends have played it, and nobody I know is going to refrain from purchasing the next game. Even if it's rated AO. So what if the local Wal-Mart won't carry an adults-only rated...

    F@H: Stats and Trends

 I've installed F@H as a service on quite a few of my school's machines that run 8 hours a day. I don't really think it's unethical, because it doesn't affect the function of the computers at all (they're just used for web browsing and word processing, which is quite a waste of a P4...

So maybe F@H isn't for me

All of these systems are great for F@H. If all six are running often, you'll get results comparable to the more elaborate machines. Don't hesitate at all to use them. Even the P2 system will pump out a WU every week or two. Every little bit helps!

What should I use my spare clock cycles for ?

We could really use some extra CPUs on the F@H team. It's my favorite DC project by far. The researchers behind it seem to really know what they're doing, and they've already seen some results. But every biotech project seems to be worthwhile, including Find a Drug and World Community Grid. It's...

    Pot

The worst effect of cannabis is its illegality. The drug itself won't likely ruin your life, but the prison sentence will.

does blood banks take blood with anti-HBc in it?

I'd like to clarify: Type O blood is the most common among the US population. Especially when combined with a negative Rh factor, it is extremely valuable as it can be given to anyone of any blood type.

Overclocking an Athlon64 2800+ with an Abit KV8

    Nope. I wish, though.

Overclocking an Athlon64 2800+ with an Abit KV8

I have a KV8 as well. Unfortunately, Abit won't likely add any more features to their K8T800 boards, in favor of their newer K8T800 Pro one, which should soon have AGP/PCI lock. Your first step would be to upgrade to some good DDR466 or 500, so that memory won't slow you down. After that, the...

    A64 3200+ 48 c idle

Many of the first generation socket 754 motherboards seem like they have problems reading temperatures. I had to flash a new BIOS on my Abit KV8 so that it wouldn't read temps as 85C+. And I'm guessing their fix was to just subtract about 50 from the readings so that it would look right. Right...

AGP/PCI limits on a K8T800 board without bus locks

Alright, so I got $80 off an Abit KV8 on newegg with an Athlon 64 2800+. It was a damn good deal, but the board doesn't have any type of AGP/PCI lock for overclocking. I'm wondering how high I can push these busses until instability becomes an issue. If I relieve the memory speed bottleneck with...

Athlon 64 2800+, Abit Motherboard, and Far Cry $223 @ Newegg

I'd just like to add that I got the 2800+ and Abit board for $198 :) I just happened to be reading my email when the auto-notify came in, and apparently I wasn't required to order Farcry either! :D If the $82 off the abit motherboard is still available, just wait a few days, they restock pretty...
