Haha no, i went 3.00 -> 3.60 -> 3.86 -> 3.91 -> 4.00 -> 4.05 -> 4.08 -> 4.10, and even tried 4.12, 4.16 and 4.20. I know this because i documented pcwizard's "mandelbrot computation benchmark" for each frequency i oc'd to. But i did download prime95 and have been testing my system.

no i was using 3dmark, though i never did test my cpu for stability (any suggestions for a good one?) However, after a little bit of testing, i found that it was the shader clock frequency that was causing it to crash. I unlinked it from the core clock in riva tuner, and ran 3dmark sucessfully...

Topic^^ Just wondering because i had my e8400 clocked at 3.60GHz, and was able to run 3dmark06 with my 8800gts at 815 core, 2021 shader, and 1120 memory. Then i increased my cpu voltage and got it to 4.1GHz, now i can't get 3dmark to complete a test sucessfully unless my graphics are at 780...

Thanks, but finally after redoing everything a third time it works again, including the hdd. I don't know what it was either. Everything is fine now though

The Story: So i bought a bunch of components to build a pc from scratch. Got everything in wednesday afternoon, had it running that night. All was going well, and i was very pleased with the performance (14500 3dMark06, 5.8 Vista Experience Rating)... and then on friday i rebooted after...

ok uninstalled, re-downloaded, installed again, and got it running. Screenshot however, whenever i get this far, after i reboot it will not work afterwards. ie: "cannot find rivatuner64.sys" or "this program is using digitally unsigned drivers" EDIT: JUST AS I THOUGHT Same problems as...

oh, i heard about disabling the signed drivers not being disable-able with sp1, but that might only be when trying to do it with command prompt

So i want to overclock my graphics card and i can't seem to get anything to work on(Rivatuner, ntune, powerstrip...). I've gotten the closest with rivatuner. I'm constantly switching between older and newer versions, installing signed rivatuner drivers, and installing different graphics...

Well i do plan to sli in the future, so theres the board and psu problem. Also, I already have the fan :( Im going to consider the hdd you mentioned, and will take your ram advice for sure as i had no idea there. Thanks!

Im building a fairly high end gaming pc i was wondering if there was anything wrong with this setup. Hopefully if there is someone will catch it. This will be build within the next 2 weeks since i will be playing age of conan. i also will be getting crysis, and maybe sins of a solar empire...
