I am buiding a dual opteron system. I was thinking in buying the Asus K8N-DL MB. But I have read good things about the brand new (and also ATX sized) MSI K8N Master2 (http://www.3dprofessor.com/review.asp?id=154). Any suggestions?
CPU Support Support for dual Socket 940 for AMD Opteron...
I am buildin a workstation for 3d animation (3d max) (also video edition and photoshop), based on a dual opteron system. I haven´t decided which mid-range OpenGL graphic card yet. My optionms are: ATI FireGL V5000 or PNY Nvidia Quadro FX1300 (both around 500 euros). Any suggestion?
Which would be your choice for a dual opteron MB? I want it to build a 3D workstation (also for video and audio editing). I need stability and silence. No overclocking.
I will plug two Opteron 244 processors, a PNY Nvidia Quadro FX1400 PCI-e Graphic Card, a PCI sound card, Firewire, 4-6 SATA...
I am thinking in building a workstation (3D graphics) based on the ASUS A8N SLI Premium. I am planning to install 2 GB of RAM. I won´t overclock it. Any recommendations?
Any recommendation for the cooler? My primary concern is SILENCE.
Thanks.
I guess I will go for the AMD x2 3800+. The two Opteron solution seems to bee too expensive and less silent (two coolers instead of one).
Thks for the advice.
What about the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. I say it because, BOXX (a pc maker for 3D systems) is probably using this MB for building its AMD single processor dual core AMD systems.
(Note: I wasn´t able to read from BOXX website which MB they use, but the specificatios matched only that MB)
Thanks for...
Wich dual-core processor would you prefer: Athlon 64x2 3800+ or Pentium D 830. I will be doing 3D graphics (dual core used intensely). I won´t OVERCLOCK it and my primary concern is STABILITY.
Thnks for your advice.
1) I am willing to build a system based on a NF4 SLI motherboard. I am not willing to OVERCLOCK the system and my primary concern is STABILITY. I will be doing 3D graphics (my machine needs to be on for several days).
I will install 4 to 6 SATA HD drives, a dedicated PCI soundcard, and a PNY...
