4 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR2 1066*/800/667 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
*The chipset officially supports the memory frequency up to DDR2 800. Due to the tuning by ASUS exclusive technology, this motherboard natively supports up to DDR2 1066MHz. Please...
I read up on the RAM fairly extensively before purchasing. That particular ASUS board is rated to handle 1066 with a 2.1v which is what I have it set for.
The CPU i have is the one available from newegg

Hey thanks for the input. This is not my first computer build by a long shot, but it is the first non-XP OS build.
If you're running compatibility, here is the RAM im using:

I set the voltage and speed manually in BIOS and it's...
This is so frustrating. I didn't NEED to upgrade from my 3 year old AMD 4200+ w/ 7800GT, and god is seeing fit to prove it to me apparently.
I recently spent a grand on a new rig that runs worse than my old one. New computer specs:
Q6600 @ 2.4
4g DDR2 1066 2x2g
ASUS P5K-VM LGA 775 Intel...
you can get a bfg 7800GT for 312$ off dell.com with some coupon deals. just google dell coupons.
and I have and would highly recommend the antec smartpower 2.0 500w. Last I checked it was 75$ on newegg and has 2x12v rails running 17 and 19amps. Plus it's modular so you only use the cables you...
dont buy an asus if you're going to overclock an x2. THey have serious problems with vcore stability. Also the setting you plug in wont necessarily be the actually voltage.

im running 2 instances of prime to stress test my overclock and the PSU temp is st 58C even though the CPU is stable at 47. Is this normal? The rear 80mm fan on the PSU hasnt turned on yet and it's supposed to turn on at a set temperature so I'm thinking this is ok, but 58 seems awfully high.
dont buy this board if you are going to overclock. It has serious vcore instability problems with X2's. And their customer service sucks IMO, 20 minutes on hold to tell them there is a fix but they cant tell me because they dont support overclocking.
Vcore wont be what you plug into bios...
deluxe. Exact same problem Ive read about with people using the deluxe+4200. Tech support says they know of a workaround but cant tell me because if I break my cpu by overclocking using info they gave me, they would be liable... What a load...
I'm having this exact same problem, only can get up to 1.36v no matter what I set it to. Im on BIOS revision 1013. I'm wondering if anyone has been able to fix this problem as I am about to return this motherboard for a different brand, 1.36v is worthless to me...
klipsch, there is no other option.
i could spend time posting the differences in frequency ranges etc, but just look at it this way.
logitech is known for their mice and keyboards
creative is known for soundcards
klipsch is known for home audio.
buy klipsch
A8N Sli-deluxe on antec smartpower 500w
Everest shows the vcore at 1.30v, usually. It dips down to 1.26 and up to 1.33. This is my first time fiddling with a computer so Im not sure if I should be concerned or if this is normal, but I rather expected the vcore to stay rock solid...
