Thanks, I've tried hitting F8 to get to safe mode but still get a blank screen.

I installed a new hard drive & loaded XP onto the drive but ran into difficulty setting the resolution for the monitor. By changing the settings, it caused the monitor to just show a blank screen when XP is fully loaded (do have a screen while initially loading & in setup). I tried different...
