    Win 2K won't load, startup screen gets scrambled then freezes

    Try re-installing first. Also do a diagnostic test. M/B might be the case but as Jiggz mentions you might have a problem with PSU.

    Laptop: 4:3 vs. 16:9 - pros/cons

    Get a wide screen. It help help you with programming work as well. However if you do a lot of browsing you might consider the 4:3.
