Readyboost sucks, my way is better

Hi Shawn, Your posts got progressively ruder and ruder as time went on. You veil it with a mask of civility but rude is still rude. Your post title should bring this with no surprise to me. I remember when these forums used to go without this sort of crap.

Acer P244wb - Changing Analog to Digital driver?

I just picked up the Acer P244wb from newegg. I got a conversion cable because my video card is DVI and the monitor only has HDMI and VGA. I noticed some blotchyness on some black backgrounds and some thumbnails look really grainy. So I decided to look for the driver. The driver doesn't...

    Converter Recommendation?

Thanks for the input, all. Does the adapter that I linked look like its any good? Snowman, is that cable's HDMI going to fit into the monitor? I assume the monitor HDMI input is female but I haven't gotten it yet. I thought you might know what the standard for that sort of thing is. The...

Vista NTFS - Is there a "best" cluster size for gaming?

Eh, I dunno about that. I don't remember what it was but I found benchmarks a year or so ago for this stuff and I do recall that there were some settings that made streaming games (i.e. warcraft) and load times better. For storage if I recall correctly, they said the lower the better but if...

Vista NTFS - Is there a "best" cluster size for gaming?

Subject pretty much says it all. I just picked up a pretty nice seagate 500gb hard drive and I hadn't thought about the cluster size. Im looking around and there's nothing really conclusive. I always usually go with the default but I assume for gaming, a bigger cluster size is better...

    Image Web Page generator?

I'm looking for a piece of software that takes images and builds thumbnailed web pages from them. ACDSee used to do a decent job of it. I'm just looking for good alternatives because it was somewhat lacking. Does Dreamweaver or Photoshop do it?+ Thanks in advance! Joe

    Good Image hosting site?

Hi. My wife and I just had our first kid and we're looking for a good place to host our pictures. I have my own web hosting and I'm going to eventually put the pictures up there. But in the mean time we want to upload to a good place. Im throwing them up on Picasa for now but the size is...

    Windows DVD Maker scenes/menu issue

Hi, In Windows DVD maker, it allows you to show a moving scene at the start of the DVD menu, as well as one for each (up to 18) scene. I can't seem to get it to work, however, with mpeg 2 files. Various others work. Mpeg 2's just get set to black. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Joe

Dynamic DNS with Static IP Address on WinXP/Vista?

The DNS addresses do change. I understand the terminology as the terminology really isn't that hard. None of this is really that hard to understand. It was just a question of knowing whether or not I can do what I was asking or any alternatives. But I did learn something. I didn't realize...

Dynamic DNS with Static IP Address on WinXP/Vista?

Thanks. I'll look into that. Changing the firmware to some non linksys version voids the warranty though, right? Would I be able to install the real linksys firmware back if there is a problem? I'm not disputing what you're saying and I probably will use the dd-wrt, but I just want to make...

Dynamic DNS with Static IP Address on WinXP/Vista?

Yeah. I was looking at my linksys setup and I can't figure out where that is if it exists at all. I think mine is called the WRT54G. Its pretty popular but from what I hear it is somewhat gimped in its capacity to do certain things.
