Thanks Junglejoe. I have re-booted etc. Also another mouse with serial connector works OK on the system so the bios and the system are OK.

:confused: Help! Please can anyone tell me why my PS/2 mouse wont work when connected, via an adaptor, to the serial port of a system that doesn't have a PS/2 socket. The mouse works well into another computer with the appropriate socket and the computer works well with a mouse with a serial plug
