Well, I received my PSU yesterday (didn't use my new GTX770 until I received my new PSU). Everything is running fine, but I'm surprised by the temps. Idle temp is 29°C while the load temp (after playing Crysis for several hours) was only 56°C. I was expecting something like 65-70°C. The GTX770...

The GTX770 wasn't super cheap, but not super expensive either (365 euro without "same day" shipping costs). ATI is a no-go for me because of personal experiences.

If I would be sleeping on money, I would have bought myself a GeForce GTX TITAN, the fastest i7 CPU and 32GB RAM. But I haven't upgraded my Game PC in 2-3 years and I think it's time to upgrade my GPU since my CPU is still fine. Years ago I bought myself a GeForce 4 Ti4600 for about 540 euro...

Well, for me "king of the hill" stands for 2 things: Performance (50%) and Acoustics (50%). And it seems that Seasonic is rock-solid in both categories.

Nah, I have a Seasonic Platinum Series 760W in my server, so I know these PSU's. They are the best and as long as Seasonic is "king of the hill", I will not buy a PSU from another brand anymore. ;)

Crap, you guys got me scared, so I ordered a Seasonic Platinum Series 660W which has the following specs: I guess this one will be more than sufficient. My GTX770 is going to arrive today. Would it be safe to start gaming with the GTX770 with my current PSU? The new PSU will probably arrive...

Good question. I think at least for a couple of years now. But I have to say that it's my "game only" PC which basically means that it doesn't get booted every month. Sometimes I play 8 hours a day, but there are also times when I don't game for 2-3 months in a row.

The max load of a GTX770 is about 246W? And the max load of my non-overclocked CPU is about 109W (together 355W)? I was thinking that 492W on the +12V rail should be more than enough then?
