Yet another reason not to touch OCZ products.

The story here is the bait and switch performed by OCZ then the horrible way in which they reacted until their customers demanded better.

I was one of the people who received one of the 25nm "bait and switch" drives, I returned it to Newegg once OCZ started the "Pay up" program and will never consider one of their products again because of the way they initially handled things.

I agree, I was expecting much improved speeds and double the capacity at the same price as has been rumored for months. This wasn't even close so I instead bought a Samsung 470 and will consider a generation 3 SSD when I build a new computer in the next 1-2 years.

www.Mozy.com - Used to have a free 1-2 gig limit, not sure about now.. I think the software is horrible. www.Dropbox.com - Basic folder sync, 2 gig free www.idrive.com - 5 GB free, never used them I far prefer Crashplan to the competition.. the pricing is very competitive...

I currently have an older mother board with Sata II and am looking to buy a SSD, I use my computer for work and gaming so reliability and gaming performance are important. I am looking for a 120+ gig drive, I assume that one of the new drives like the Intel 510 would be a waste due to my Sata...

I have an older motherboard with Sata II, are any of these new drives worth getting much less this one?

I actually sent an email to the Newegg service department yesterday explaining what OCZ did and how I think the %15 restocking fee is unfair because it is not as if I mistakenly purchased the wrong item. They waived the fee, I love Newegg.

It was mailed back today, I saw the post right after it was dropped off lol. That said, no release notes as of yet and if they had any plans to improve speed with a firmware update why not tell us one was in the works instead of all of this other nonsense like the "trade up" program for more...

So here is the info on doing a return with Newegg, opened the box? %15 restocking fee... sucks but it is what it is.. Well worth getting rid of this drive and OCZ's shady business practices imo..
