Does anyone know about the "limit one per household"? I purchased a set of these back in April using a different MIR (expired back in May). Would they accept my MIR from a June MIR form??
I installed a Zalman ZV900 on my 7900GS in about 10 min., and dropped my VGA temps 15C on load (8-10C idle). I was able to find mine for $35, you usually get what you pay for.
Can you just put the stock cooler back on (with some fresh AS5)???
I'm still waiting for my $75 MIR from Crucial for the last set of 8500 I got from Newegg. This is a smokin' deal though. These chips are fast, and great OC'ers. Will do 1200 (1066 stock) at 5-4-4-12, and don't even require that much voltage (will POST with 1.8).
Yea, I have been getting the salads lately (still use the barbacoa due to its greatness tho), but it cuts out the 340 calorie tortilla, and I don't need sour cream since I have the salad dressing. Still probably around 600-700 calories, but thats acceptable for me.
I haven't got my PC's (one running XP, one running Vista) to see each other yet. I've tried everything, reinstalling network, making sure workgroup name is exact same, etc......they worked fine before I installed Vista on my desktop
I hate the rebate thing too. I am still waiting on one $75 MIR from Crucial, before I will buy any more of this 8500, I want my first rebate!
BTW......this price has been stable for at least 2 weeks, the MIR keeps updating from Crucial (and increasing, a month ago it was only a $75 MIR).
As an XBOX360 owner, one of the most unnecessary things to do EVER is watercool a game system. You can't up the voltage, raise the multiplier, raise the FSB speed..................so what is the point of watercooling???
About the only thing I see happening is you get a leak and waste $400.
This thing will be about half that price in 2 months (est. $266.....will be even lower with competition effect) .....I would go with an E4300 and upgrade later if you can't wait until July.
Might want to wait until July 22nd for the cheaper Q6600. More and more programs/games will start utilizing quad-core and it will be solid for at least a year ;)
EDIT: I am using the 9700NT and it has been a fantastic cooler, easy to install (just don't put the motherboard in the case...
