I would keep an eye on eBay or these boards and try to pick up some more RAM. The system is going to run like garbage & you'll probably wind up getting frustrated as hell. I don't run anything now with less than 8GB and even that is insufficient at times with my work PCs (Spam removed)

Usually the manufacturer will have some sort of tests you can run in BIOS or a diag disk that you can load on a CD or USB stick. Used to have them for Dell, HP and Lenovo when I was doing more desktop support (Spam removed)

I personally leave about 20% free (spilt between the spare area and free space), but that is just my own preference from what I have read.

I just got the Intel 330 240GB from NCIX for 150. I love the Intel toolbox so I'd highly recommend the Intel drive. Samsung has a similar type software.

I used to think 120GB was enough was both O/S and games, but I wound up getting on Intel 330 240GB from NCIX and also have a Mushkin 120GB Chronos. I have a ton of MMOs loaded however. If you just need it for O/S then a 120GB should be fine, but if you can spare the extra $ I'd go for a 240GB...

I've got one 30 minutes from my house and I won't make the trip unless I am in the area or they have a great deal in regards to Newegg/Amazon. Between gas & tolls, the savings sometimes isn't that great although they do charge on 3.5% tax instead of 7%.

Try different RAM slots. I had a board that they said to put in 1&3 for dual channel and it wouldn't boot for crap. Put in 2&4 and boom it worked no problem

When I upgraded my main PC to an i5-2500K, I manually tweaked it to get it to run at 4.2GHZ. When I upgraded my second PC to a FX-4100, I was too lazy and get let the MSI OC Genie II do the overclocking.
