I have Tomato on a router right now but I don't think it supports VDSL2 because I can't get it working. It's become very tiresome to troubleshoot this issue since VDSL2 is a very new technology and not many people even have it available to them.
I think my next troubleshooting step is going to...
I can't get this setup to work. I have an Actiontec Q1000 modem from Qwest/Centurylink, I called tech support and they confirmed my service supports running my modem in Transparent Bridge mode (RFC 1483 Transparent Bridging) and having my router handle the PPPoE connection. I have put the modem...
The Patriot PBO thing is looking like it might fit the bill, thank you for that!
My router is right next to the TV so I don't have a need for the wifi capabilities, but I want to find a bit more out regarding the UI before I proceed, some comments mentioned problems with W7, though those might...
I'm not against getting one of those stand alone media devices, but I haven't seen enough consistent review to warrant a purchase yet. Also haven't heard of that device so I will look into it.
The Boxee looked promising but even with that I see lots of problems with MKV files. I had a bad...
If HD is unformatted and is only drive attached and is attached to correct IDE port and is set to Master, you should be able to verify drive is attached and recognized in the BIOS. Do you see it there?
Assuming drive is there, you need to set boot order to include CD-ROM and have that be the...
Hey everyone.
Been looking to build a very cheap HTPC that can handle 720p movies, preferably streaming, has anyone tried this barebones setup from Newegg? My only two requirements are:
720p (streaming the videos isn't a requirement but is highly desirable)
HDMI Out
Here is the...
Of course once I finally decide to ask for help my next search finds some more information.
I think I need to setup and host a BIND server on my domain, would this be correct?
I currently have a website hosted with Bluehost and a router running Tomato.
I've setup Tomato to use no-ip.com and that works.
I saw in Tomato I could use a custom URL, which got me thinking that maybe I could use a subdomain on my current host to host a DDNS service that my router...
I'm not sure exactly which forum this belongs to as it stems from an issue with both Outlook and GCAL, but has anyone found a GOOD solution for syncing your two calendars?
I know the Google Calendar Sync application exists, but it is very limited and only syncs the main outlook calendar and...
Hey has anyone here tried out a few different projectors?
I'm looking for a nice portable projector that will perform in most any environment. Keystoning seems to be the biggest enemy and can be adjusted either digitally or manually, with the manual correction being limited to vertical image...
I was hoping the hub wasn't the only solution, but guess we will just have to wait. We are switching out to E6410's with E-Port Plus docking stations as soon as possible, they can run dual monitors using the port replicator and are easier to store and travel with.
Thanks for the replies.
Well that's kind of annoying, but also expected. We need to get some laptops in here that can support dual monitors, they need to be Dell and preferably need to be much smaller than the Z's. We are shipping the Z's back as soon as we get some replacements.
How do I know if my Graphics cards can support this?
We just got a few new Dell Laptops/Desktops (Latitude Z/Optiplex 780) and we would like to run Dual monitors. The Optiplex's have DisplayPort and VGA outs, so I could just grab a converter for those and run VGA/DVI, but the Z's have only...
