Ok, I need a basic laptop for under a grand. AMD if possible, but whatever has good battery life and something I can dump more RAM into. Any suggestions? Experiences?
Ive been an AMD fan for a while, and my last laptop was an AMD. Dell screwed me over on a ship date and a back order so Im thinking about going elsewhere. Something AMD or if the extra money is worth it 64Bit AMD. Who makes a quality AMD laptop?
IF you know what you are doing and getting into, then build.
Otherwise buy, less compatability issues, but less upgradeability.
Also when building warrenty issues are often an issue.
Buying you deal with a single warrenty usually and there is a service number to maybe help you.
Any other suggestions to go along with the cooling? I check the mobo specs and it supports 4x/8x AGP. But there doesn't seem to be a way to tweak any of the AGP settings in the BIOS.
Every install walk through Ive seen calls for uninstalling the old drivers. I can't disable it in the bios, and we'll try to disable it again in device manager. The problem is if you boot with the card then you don't see the onboard in the device manager.???

Well first off, we tried to turn off the on board in the bios. However the options where PCI and AGP/On Board..

Ill try leaving the cover off.
The original PSU was only 250Watts and clearly not enough for everything...
