I'm having a similar problem with my Q9550 with a ZeroTHERM BTF90 HSF. I was running like 75C under load in games, so I cleaned the surfaces with rubbing alcohol and applied less paste than I had in the past. It was much improved for the first few days (around 55C during load I think?) But now...
Yeah I did have it set to Manual, thats why its puzzling. For some reason I can't change it.
Also: Is it normal for Asus boards to not be recoverable from non-posting settings other than to pull the Bios battery? My Giga-byte board has a dual bios, so if it can't post it just reverts to the...
Just built a new rig for a friend, and I'm having troubles overclocking this setup. Ram is the Corsair Dominator 8gb 8/8/8/24 (2x2x2x2gb) kit if that matters.
The main issue is that I can't seem to change the voltages on things like the CPU and RAM, even when following other peoples guides...
2 years ago I built my rig with an Intel Q9550 and the above-mentioned HSF. The box is rather sparse on instructions, and even their website PDF has no pictures or much in the way of orientation instructions.
Recently I've noticed that my idle temps are in the 45-50C range, when most people...
Yeah I saw those on Newegg, but although it was called an MP4 player, the specs didn't list any video formats. Maybe I need to just go to the Creative site and check directly.
Reading more about the iRiver I don't think I want that. ZuneHD seems the closest match, although no MKV support and...
Why I ask this common question here is:
I'm finally getting off my butt and working on my drawing skills after years of neglect. So basically I would like something that works well for bringing up pictures to display for pose assistance. Yet at the same time of course being good at video...
Thanks for the article. I think I'd rather spend the bit extra for it (buying a 2nd one and raid-striping later this summer has come to mind), and I'd rather not risk premature failure when dealing with 1TB of data :)
I've been doing homework on which new HDD to purchase for video editting projects and some general storage. As such I want a 1TB drive as I'm out of space in general atm, and need around 600gb of space for lossless video.
The RE3 is at a hefty premium of $160 compared to the $110 for the...
I've read that ATI inexplicably decided to not support UVD hardware in their HD2900 cards, but that the GPU would still support decoding features via using the stream-processors.
Does anyone know how I can tell if this is the case? There is no "GPU performance" meter in the Catalyst drivers...
I've tried booting the computer with no CPU, memory, or video card and still don't receive any beeps at all.
I'm leaning towards thinking I have a screwed up motherboard that needs an RMA?
I'm building a new system for a friend consisting of an Asus P5K-E motherboard and an Intel E6750 CPU along with 2gb of Mushkin extreme memory (Micron D9 chips, PC2 6400).
For some reason the system refuses to post. All the fans run normally, the motherboard has power, but there is no beep or...
Oh thank god, I finally got it to post again. I noticed the video card became unseated slightly and then it posted. But I'm fairly sure that only got knocked loose when I tried switching monitors connected to it in the testing process.
So probably something got borked and the CMOS reset fixed it.
PDC2G3200LLK is the product number on the ram. 2-3-2-5 timings listed
And no I don't have another PSU lying around to test with, sorry.
Think I should leave that Additional power connector thing plugged into the mobo?
Thermaltake PSU even, excuse me. Isn't that name-brand enough? I've used their CPU coolers for years, and the PSU had good reviews on Newegg.
I should only need to have the CMOS battery out for like a minute, correct?
Patriot dual channel memory.
