Is there a benchmark software that focuses on the hardware performance for testing against the Microsoft Office suite?
We utilize both Office 2010 and 2013.
The focus needs to be on large file size Excel calculations and PowerPoint HD video playback.
Perhaps I may have missed something, but...
the budget for the vid card is $100ish, so I went with $130 Quadro 400. If you say anything "2xx/4xx/+ nvidia gpu" will work fine, I'm not going to deny that. I just want to ask, will "2xx/4xx/+ nvidia gpu" in the $100 price range perform better? If not, I'm just wasting money on a "better" card...
I knew I forgot to answer a question. What do I need a HDD? storage? the PC will be connected to a NAS for main storage.
is there any other purpose than that?
true... I only buy lifetime warranty RAM. I'll pay a few dollar extra for it. my boss wants this done today. If you can pick a better...
the i3 2100 is roughly $100 plus a $50 mobo, equating to $150... my x6 1055T plus mobo are also $150. Let's no forget about the fact that I will be using other programs like a web browser and reading/making large PDF's. I assume 6 cores will help me multitask more efficiently... correct? Are you...
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Autocad
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
$500ish
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Microcenter, Paterson, NJ
4. IF...
awesome! one says yes, one says no, and another inquired about the quality of the refurbishing. lol I'm gunna need one more to tip the vote, preferably with good logic.
I bought a refurbished Antec 500w for $15 shipped. It's in my main system for about 2 years now. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I just added a GTX 460 and it seems to be doing well.
I just bought an Antec BP550 Plus for $45. I hear "it it ain't broke, don't fix it" a lot... so...
PC #1 and #2 can print to the Dell Printer. They were able to print the HP Printer since last week when it was last used, but not today. Printer was not found and a possible driver problem seemed to be the error.
PC#3 CAN print to all printer.
Router #3 is a Wireless G Ethernet Bridge

I have a P4 (the old one without hyper threading) with integrated video chipset at work, and I'm doing autocad 05 and 10 on it. I know they "work" and I can manage with these hardware, I just want it to work well when I throw a lot of things at it. I cant have the jagged lines, cuz in google...
exactly what I needed to hear. my work is more engineering. I'll load Google Sketchup again with my new GTX 460 and see how it performs. If it's still jittery when I load the trees, I'll look into an SSD (that's what you would recommend, correct?)
I would like to start learning "solid modelling/solid rendering or 3D graphics" and a jittery computer will just deter me.
I'm looking at the Nvidia website, and I see the Quadro 600 (entry level) is under $200.
my understanding of "entry level" is that it sucks. Am I naively mistaken? I'm...
I've seen this and it doesn't do much for me. just because it's "supported" and "recommended" doesn't mean anything. Windows recommend 2gb of RAM and that's definitely not enough to run windows. I would like some wisdom, not facts.
is it worth it to buy a quadro4 to replace my GTX 460?
I'm...
