if you're getting a MB as well, Monarch has the 4400+ OEMs for $585, but only if it's part of a combo deal.

When you select the 4400 OEM chip, there's pop up that says that you're only pre-ordering it.
Same thing happened when I ordered yesterday, but I got my Fed Ex...
Every socket 939 MB I've seen has a 4Gig or less RAM limit listed in the specs, that's why I'm asking if a board exists that supports more.
There are plenty of 64bit Linuxes and WinXP64 will be out next month.
I'm running analysis on some pretty sizeable datasets. It's painfull to watch once it starts paging... I could go with a dual opteron setup, I know that the Tyan dual boards support up to 16Gigs. But Opterons require registered ram, and that stuff is pretty expensive.

Do you guys know if the 4 GIG limit is a limit of the 939 pin chips or is it just a choice that MB makers seem to make?
With 2 GB dimms available, it's too bad that no one's making a board that could make use of 8Gigs.
