Good point, actually. I've had people RMA motherboards that acted the same way that simply had the clear CMOS jumper in the clear position, or had the CPU jumpers (remember those?) set incorrectly.

What screen DOES pop up after #6? Also, what CPU are you using and what's the board's FSB set to? I've had Biostar boards go to Boot Block when the CPU's FSB is unintentially overclocked.

The pad is good, but not reusable. If you fire it up, the pad melts, and you take the heatsink back off... better have some AS5 handy to put on after you scrape off the goop. Out of the box, the AMD fan (despite it's small size) and pad are actually pretty darn decent.

That would be weird! A BIOS not reporting 12V or 3.3V? But your problem is not uncommon. Often I have people report whacked voltages that when checked with a multi-meter are dead on.
