Its not really a replacement, its simply an NT based thing. All NT based Os's use ipconfig, while the fat32, win9x, millenims of the world use winipcfg.

I tried disabling all the integrated peripherals in the CMOS, including USB,serial ports, Parrallel port, LAN, Sound. I have tested this with both the latest Biostar mb drivers AND the latest VIA chipset driver. windows 2k with and without SR3. no problem with an old Banshee card I had laying...

You may want to try reseting the configuration data in CMOS, its a little option that is usually under the "Plug and Play OS? [yes/no]" option. It has on occasion resolved small mb related boot issues from time to time.... harmless and worth a shot since its free and you are obviously...

ipconfig, but its dos based so you will have to run it at a command prompt. at the prompt type c:>ipconfig /release c:>ipconfig /renew those two command will release your present IP adress and attempt to renew (regrab) that (or a new) IP address.
