I've been having IDE corruption issues with an IP35 (non-pro) board as well. System passes all stress tests and is not running particularly hot, event logs read "The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume J:." This is occurring on...
I was referring to the READ speed on the drive being 20X only, at least as recorded by CDSpeed. It seems to be throttling itself for some reason, as the RPMs continually decrease to keep the read speed ~20X across the whole disk. The thing actually writes faster than it reads.
Any one else with...
Is anyone else's Khypermedia 48X CD-RW stuck at a 20X read speed? Tried different disks and master/slave configs but still no more than 20X read.
Mine is a Malaysia C.CZ model. I can't find the BENQ model number to determine if it is a candidate for the 52x firmware upgrade.
Also, it wasn't...
Believe it or not I actually ran out of CDRs . . . and there haven't been any hot deals posted on quality CDRs for a while now. Anyone know of a good deal on Taiyo Yudens or similar high quality disks. I'm even willing to pay a quarter for a disk!
This will be a HOT deal if the ticket actually arrives. Thanks.
Anyone else know any Tahoe lift ticket deals?
Only (very lukewarm) deal I know is Heavenly passes from Albertsons for $49 instead of $57.
Well, 4mb is still better because the burnproof does add a bit of slop to the burn. Better to never have to invoke burn proof, which is less morewith the 4mb buffer.
I wonder if a burner has to invoke burn proof on an audio CD, if the checksum or whatever it is will still be close enough that...
But will they provide free updates to the Constitution as the Bush administration modifies it to pander to the Christian right? I see at least a couple new amendments coming up:
28th Amendment - ban flag burning (boy that will solve all the nation's problems!)
29th Amendment- undo seperation...
The crux of whether this is a hot deal or not really depends on whether the bios string can be changed to make it think it's a Plextor. I guess we've got a 2 week window for this to happen, or else mine goes back (yes I only bouth ONE!!). Iomega is suck. Does the fornt panel have the same...
I would be truly impressed to see an IDE setup be able to burn two separate disks from two separate readers at 8x on the fly like I can do with my SCSI Plextors...at least without burnproof.
It's not such a hot deal if you don't get to use any of the Plextor software. The drive needs to think that it's a Plextor for this to happen. Can his one be flashed like the Imation CDRs were?
