yeah i guess asus sucks. What AM2 motherboard which supports DDR800 (GSKILL RAM) do u guys reccomend?

ok i did this and i also put the RAM into a different slot. It goes into the xp install now but when I try to install XP i get errors like file can not be copied. i thought it was the hard drive but it happens on another hard drive. Could it stil be the ram? or the mobo is bad?

yeah looks like this mobo hates most cheap ram these r the ram specifications Cas Latency: 5 Timing: 5-5-5-15 Voltage: 1.9V-2.0V
