I must say, what just threw me off yesterday, was learning that instead of only looking for a card with plenty of memory (1Gb), I should look instead for a card that has a good balance ratio between memory and bus speed. I was explained that there wasn't much of a point to have 1Gb of memory if...
This is the situation:
I have a home network of 2 PCs using Ethernet, and I want to add a 3rd PC but wirelessly.
We are all using WinXP.
I am not sure yet what kind of wireless card is being used for the 3rd PC.
The Modem/router is a Speedstream 6300.
The message I'm getting when...
Thank you guys :)
The only problem I see with Jabber is that it works via the internet, instead of LAN :(
Do you know another one that would not work in the internet?

- with Windows XP.
Does anyone know exactly how to do this. I am looking for a way that wouldn't require the internet, only the LAN.
Pointing me to the Help file would be enough. I just need to know if this is possible with whatever comes with WinXP, or if I need to look for a third party...
This is about the 3rd time it happens. For no apparent reason my main monitor goes off on its own. I don't know if the following was a coincidence or it actually had something to do with it, but it happened just when I click the Save button in 3DSmax7. The funny thing is that it does have power...
Thanks Varun,
Unfortunately it didn't work : (
You see, when I first turn on the pc and it loads Win2k, it welcomes me with a little window to enter your username and passw. By clicking in the drop down list of users I can see that there are 9 users previously registered. The way I get into...
I once read that just formtting the HD isn't enough to completely and securely get rid of "everything". It was some time ago, so I can't remember any of those programs I saw mentioned (in the article). Could anyone recommend a program or two for this?
Thanks in advance,
JDL
While playing HL2 I get this error message while the game freezes:
"0x241c9c17" referenced memory at "0x00d50cc0". The memory could not be "read".
Getting new ram would fix this?
Thank guys,
JDL
I'm attempting to install WinXP now. I have already gone through copying the files from the CD to the HD, now when it boots up it goes directly to the Setup, then it asks me what do I want to do, there are 3 options. I choose Repair, as I need to copy some missing files. The only problem I have...
I have an issue with Outlook Pro installed on my main PC that is not recognizing contacts. They are all there, but when I try to send an email, and I select "to" the contacts dialogue box shows up empty.
This is an old Compaq Pressario, 5002CA.
When turn on, everything seems to work fine, except that there is nothing on the screen. I have already changed its video card without much success. Does this mean that the problem lies on the Motherboard? Or not necessarily?
Thanks in advance...
I know this is rather silly, but I can't find my Recycle Bin. I have used Windows since Win95 so is not like I'm a total newbie. I don't see it on the desktop, neither in Windows Explorer.
Where could it be?
Thanks,
Jim
