Discussion Leading Edge Foundry Node advances (TSMC, Samsung Foundry, Intel) - [2020 - 2025]

TSMC with competition would have provided BSPD on all of their N2 tier processes without extra cost to its customers. Without competition, TSMC is free to charge even higher price with processes with BSPD.

Isn't X Elite based on TSMC 4nm while 8 Gen 4 on 3nm? Power efficiency should be improved on some degree.

Intel sharing EUV capacity on 4,3, and upcoming 20A. Intel will need TSMC until they have enough EUV capacity to produce at the same volume as Intel 7.

As long as x86 keeps on making decent progress, I don't see why Sony and MS would feel the urge to make transition to ARM unless they are motivated to make portable console like Nintendo.

N4X? Though this is tailored for HPC stuff so might still be N4P. https://www.anandtech.com/show/18875/tsmc-details-n4x-extreme-performance-at-minimum-leakage

    Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

Could it be that RDNA4 big die was never planned to begin with and high end was going to be 2x MCM solution but that didn’t quite work out? So AMD got stuck with only a midrange for RDNA4.

    Question Zen 4 builders thread

$699 pricing on 7950x gives a room for higher price bracket for 7950x3D. I would probably wait for that instead.

    Speculation: Intel will become fabless

Nah, I think it is a bit premature to assume Intel will spin off their IFS. It may enable Intel to get more fund out of Chips Act by inviting another company in the mix, and overall less money out of their own pocket by getting outside investment.

News Intel GPUs - waiting for B770

It is certainly a possibility but nothing more than that. It isn't really worth discussing over what is probably the fabricated info.

News Intel GPUs - waiting for B770

The insider info about "Intel may or may not abandon dGPU market altogether" just happens to leak out on a day Intel announced a bad quarter results sounds too convenient to me.

News Intel GPUs - waiting for B770

No, what Intel needs to do is keep on releasing Arc and keep improving their drivers. That would only work for the short term but would be a horrible move for a long term.
