It must be the NoiseControl Silverado @ 12v. It is by far the most silent fan spec'ed for athlon 1500, but it is pricy esp. in the US. Look at www.noisecontrol.de for more info. You can see as test of it at toms hardware guide. jakoblm

I'm just curious. The new BIOS for my mobo (Soltek SL-75KAV) Q8.1 states that it supports the new Athlon4. Has anyone tried this and if yes, with what result? jakoblm

Well, maybe! I think molex got some silent coolers, which is not that expensive. And I know that NoiseControl in Germany has some, but I think that they are expensive in the US. I have just bought NoiseControls Silverado, and it is so quiet 12dB (you can't hear it). Look at www.noisecontrol.de...
