I mounted it on my vent (I bought the vent clip from Ebay for my old Magellan 500 long time ago) and the speaker is good enough. I've tried the Nuvi from Thrifty's car rental (don't remember the model # but it's one of the new models) and the speaker volume is around the same as the Magellan...

I tried that too but XP still didn't assign a drive letter to the 3225. Anyhow, I got it to work with Win2000 on my laptop (didn't need to reboot either). The 3225 works like a charm, I love the extra POIs.

Update:
My Windows XP is the culprit. I connected my 3225 via USB to my other computer running Windows 2000. The drive showed up and the system assigned a drive letter to it. The volume of the drive is TFAT. So I am good to go now.
