My budget is around 1000$ or less if possible and workstation laptops are way out of my range. I'm nit picking for a i7 36xxx or 26xx and a decent dedicated GPU but I find it difficult to keep the price around that budget.
Battery life or weight are not really factors I'm taking into account...
Ive noticed some performance hiccups lately and found out only half of my RAM is being used. I found out the issue when I swapped out the default HFS for my i5 760 with a Hyper 212+, since I had to rebuild it from scratch again. Though, I did not OC yet.
The mobo detects my 2x2GB of RAM but...
Oh, Didnt know that, the manuals were conflicting. I dont see myself ever using a floppy anymore, so its fine. Just have to run some benchmarks and tests and then OC my Lynnfield... When my HSF gets here.
Thanks for the tips!
Found out it was a problem with the molex cable that has a 4-pin connector at the end for the mobo, the one for manually controlling case fan speeds. Shoved that molex aside in the case since that one isnt modular and used another set that doesnt have the pins.
So in turn...
I just did a benchtest out of the case with my CPU/RAM/GPU, it powers up!
Just have to figure out whats causing it not too power up when I reset my parts...
I checked and readjusted again, dont think I plugged it incorrectly in the first place. Reread the manual PWR + - and RESET - +
Still nothing powers on, there are no LEDs or anything thats on. Any other ideas?
