How do I share files/printers/resources between WinXP & Win98se via Linksys BEFSR41 router???

Well, I finally got it to work about 4am this morning... I think part of my problem was Norton Internet Security... I went in and put the IP for the Win98 machine in the 'trusted' folder, and then after that, I was able to run the Network Setup disk on the Win98 machine and it finally detected...

How do I compile a cutom kernel?

As some of you may know, I have asked in a few other threads for help getting Linux to install on my Dell system... After talking to a few more people, I was told that I should try compiling a custom kernel specific to my system. My question is, how do I do this? JackNimble

    >>How exactly are you installing? Booting from CD, or using install floppies? You already created a thread on this topic >>(replyhere), but failed to respond to all of the questions that were posed. I did respond... The RedHat distro's (7.2 & 9.0) are being installed from CD.. Using fdisk, I...

Scratched thermal pad on P4 Heatsink, is this bad???

Hey, thanks for the link... Just a few more questions... To get the thermal pad off, I use Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol? Also, am I supposed to put the thermal grease on both the Heatsink & CPU, or just the heatsink? Thanks again!!!

    This blows

Dirext X is simply the API (Application Programming Interface) that sits between the software (in this case HL-2) and the hardware... However, Direct X itself has to go through whatever drivers a video card uses because these drivers have been developed to take the DirectX API calls and...

Scratched thermal pad on P4 Heatsink, is this bad???

Well, I'm not planning on overclocking, but I don't know how to judge how bad the damage is... rough estimate, I'd say the scratched off part is approx as thick as a toothpick, about 1/4" long, and runs from one edge of thermal pad towards the center... JackNimble
