Also the review of samsung240B supposedly has an 8192KB buffer, hte lite on has 2048, so this SW-248 has the smalleest buffer. I guess I'll hang on and do some reasearch before installing.

So anyway what is the deal on the samsung?? I realize its only $20, but is the LiteOn better, best? If so why? Also are these drives loud or what, I have a 52x cdrom that sounds like a plane taking off. Just would like to clarify before I install it.

HI, so I read this thread earlier and went to pick one up. Now I get back and see BeLooken stating the part number. Well the one I got the part# is CDICD00118 and the drive model is SW-248. Obviously it is not the LTR, so what is the issue with this type. Or better, why is the Lite on better?
