Anyone have any ideas? Do I need to do something so it will be recognized as a 8MB card?

I bought a diamond SpeedStar A50 AGP that was supposidly 8 mb, but it only recognizes and shows 4 mb. Running it on a FIC VA503+. Can it be that it is defective? Or did I not configure it right? (have all the drivers). Or was the seller mistaken? Is there a way to see how much memory there...
