I agree. I'd rather pay taxes on a cashing in 500 BTC now, than having sold them off as I mined for <$100 each. Same thing with LTC, I'd rather pay the taxes on a million in a year or two than cashing in a $100 each day now.

Not really. They're "starting development". Which means, 1 year out, best case scenario. Plus, 500kH/sec is not impressive. They will need to compete with the home-built rigs on price/performance. We can easily get 2100-2800 kH/sec with 3-4 280x or 7970 cards, at a pretty reasonable...

No, you won't reduce the life by overclocking to 1050mhz. You will get reduced life by running at 80-100% fan speed though. I have a whole bunch of 7950's that I've been using to mine litecoins for 6 months and I have them set between 1030-1050mhz at 1.05v. Dropping the voltage really helps...

I will tell you that I have a bunch of 7950 cards mining and some go up to 90c before I have it cutoff. No, it's not ideal. I would like to get them below 85C. I wouldn't worry at all about 80C. Plus, XFX doesn't have the best heatsink designs.
