The game's resetting your resolution at exit. Do you have the monitor's driver installed? That might prevent the video card from switching the refresh rate to a level that your monitor cannot support. (just a guess though)

Keep in mind that you're going to be overseas and plugging into a foreign country's power grid. Mp3 players that use standard AA or AAA batteries would be more convienent for you since you won't have to carry around plug adaptors or converters.
