having a hard time figuring why anyone would buy this card when you can get the 7800GTX for $100 less that will perform the same or better. you've got to either be an ATI fanboy or have a friend/relative that works for ATI.

My friend this motherboard with an Athlon 2000+ and a 512MB DDR stick installed, but he's only seeing 480MB of memory. what gives? he has a PCI graphics card installed (nVidia GeForce2). is there some sort of issue with this board that makes it suck 32MB of the installed RAM?
